Celebrating Our Mothers’ Legacy: RACA Presents Its Annual College Scholarship Competition
SAN FRANCISCO, California (November 3, 2025) – The Ruby Ann and Carrie Ann Scholarship Foundation (RACA) presents its Annual College Scholarship Competition. Dedicated to Mrs. Ruby Ann Myles and Ms. Carrie Ann Dawson, the late mothers of RACA Founders Bryant Myles and Michelle Banks-Myles, this year’s scholarship competition kicks off Monday November 3, 2025. Education and community service advocates, Mrs. Myles and Ms. Dawson nurtured their children, instilled in them a sound work ethic, pushed them to pursue academic excellence and to be of service to their community.
“We’re excited to carry on DCBF’s great work of youth empowerment through higher education through RACA and to share our mothers’ legacy of service,” said RACA Co-Founder Bryant Myles.
More information can be found in the scholarship letter and application. All scholarship applications and supporting materials must be postmarked by January 30, 2026. Winners will be announced by April 3, 2026.

Onward with RACA: DCBF Transitions to the Ruby Ann and Carrie Ann Scholarship Foundation
SAN FRANCISCO, California (October 31, 2025) – The union of Bryant Myles and Michelle Banks-Myles brings together a long history of education advocacy and youth empowerment. Inspired by their mothers, Mrs. Ruby Ann Myles and Ms. Carrie Ann Dawson, we present the Ruby Ann and Carrie Ann Scholarship Foundation, (RACA).
For (16) years The Darin C. Banks Foundation, (DCBF), has advocated for youth education and empowerment. DCBF has awarded over three dozen college scholarships, mentored thousands of young people, cultivated relationships with high schools, universities, other non-profits and corporations across the United States. DCBF Scholars have matriculated to and graduated from Ivy League, Big Ten, HBCU and other distinguished private colleges and universities. They are emerging leaders working in the business, technology, entertainment, social services, and other industries. They volunteer in their hometowns and abroad, enriching their communities as global citizens. With Bryant and Michelle at the helm and the support of an engaged board and volunteers, RACA will continue DCBF’s great work of promoting higher education, awarding college scholarships, and empowering students with practical and sound advice on financial literacy, interviewing skills, resume preparation, college success tips, successful career management and entrepreneurship. RACA believes in today's youth and tomorrow's leaders.

Winners Announced
SAN FRANCISCO, California (April 4, 2025) – The Darin C. Banks Foundation (DCBF) is pleased to announce the winners of its Annual College Scholarship Competition. This year’s scholarship competition was dedicated to Carrie A. Dawson, the mother of DCBF Founder Michelle Banks. An education advocate and life-long giver, Ms. Dawson was the first contributor to the growing organization. She also volunteered her time and encouraged others to support DCBF.
After a competitive selection process, DCBF’s Scholarship Committee selected Channing Delagall from Florida, Ethann Burkett from North Carolina, and Miriam Haddad from Michigan. “It was truly inspiring to interview the scholarship finalists and hear their passion, resilience, and vision for the future,” said DCBF Scholarship Committee Member Shannon Stinnett.
DCBF was established in loving memory of Darin and to continue his legacy of service to others. DCBF encourages students to seek higher education through advocacy and by awarding college bound students scholarships. In addition, the Foundation coordinates mentoring programs designed to inspire students to explore potential career paths, build character, and participate in volunteer service.

Bearing no sons of her own, Ms. Dawson welcomed her son-in-love Darin Banks into her family. After Mr. Banks’ passing, she became an avid supporter of DCBF, giving her time and contributing financially to the growing organization.
DCBF honors Ms. Dawson on what would have been her 76th birthday by dedicating the scholarship competition to her.
DCBF has also bestowed the honor of naming Ms. Dawson as its first Founding Supporter.
